Hanoi lacks thousands of resettlement houses for projects

Hanoi City People’s Committee reported that the fund of resettlement houses for big construction projects is in short, causing difficulties for ground clearance.

Particularly, the project of Ringroad 2 Vinh Tuy-Nga Tu So section needs 3,500 resettlement houses, Nguyen Hoang Ton road construction project 900 houses, and Nguyen Tam Trinh-Linh Nam road project in demand of 900 resettlement houses…

According to the Department of Construction, the ongoing progress of building resettlement houses in Hanoi cannot meet the demand of above mentioned house volume.

The Committee also admitted the quality of resettlement houses remained low while the management and maintenance were limited, so resettlement houses are quickly downgraded.

After expanding the administrative frontier in 2008, Hanoi annually needs to implement over 1,000 investment projects related to land revoke, ground clearance, and 20,000 resettlement houses.

Since 2000, Hanoi has carried out 80 resettlement house projects with 20,000 units, of which 12,000 have been completed.

From now to 2015, the city will build 9 resettlement urban areas with 20-50 hectares per area, totalling 50,000 houses. - Source: Vietbiz24
